Elsie E. Lewis
GARDINER - Elsie Edith Lewis, 98, of Gardiner, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997, at Robinson's Health Care Facility, Gardiner.
She was born in East Bridgewater, Mass. on July 2, 1899, the daughter of George B and Hannah Avis Morse White.
Mrs. Lewis was a member of Winter Street Baptist Church in Gardiner.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles I Lewis, who died in 1979, and her son, Irving "Ted" Lewis, who died June 4, 1992.
She is survived by her son, Charles F. Lewis of Huntington Beach, Calif; her daughter, Phyllis Worster of Bangor; her devoted daughter-in-law, Dorothy Anderson of Farmingdale; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be Monday at 10am in the Evergreen Cemetery, Richmond. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Winter Street Baptist Church, Gardiner.
Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner.
