Mark Walter Christenson was born to Walter & Flossie (Domke) Christenson. He served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Winged Arrow in the South Pacific. Mark married Elaine C. Thedens 20 Aug 1946. They later divorced after having 2 children. He then farmed in Salem Corners & Simpson until marring Neva Grace (Stevens) Storm on 29 Jun 1979. They lived in Stewartville where he worked for the All American Co-op until he retired. Mark was a member of the Eagles Club, Stewartville American Legion, Pleasant Grove Masonic Lodge & Farm Bureau. He was preceded in death by 1 infant son, 1 sister, & 2 brothers.

STEWARTVILLE -- A memorial service for Mark Walter Christenson will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles, with the Rev. Michael Hart officiating. Burial of his ashes will be in Hillside Cemetery, St. Charles.

Mr. Christenson, 81, of Stewartville, died Thursday (July 6, 2006) at his home.

He was born April 4, 1925, in Rochester. He served in the Navy during WW II on the USS Winged Arrow, stationed in the South Pacific. He and Elaine C. Thedens were married on Aug. 20, 1946, and later divorced. He had farmed in Salem Corners until moving to Simpson, where he farmed until 1975. He married Neva Stevens Storm on June 29, 1979, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. They made their home in Stewartville, where he worked for All American Co-op until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool and dancing to old-time music. He belonged to the Eagles Club of Rochester, Stewartville American Legion, Pleasant Grove Masonic Lodge and Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, JulLea (William) Bailey of Chatfield; four stepsons, Randy Storm of Austin, and Dale Storm, Rick Storm and Ron Storm, all of St. Charles; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Jim of Kasson. He was preceded in death by an infant son, a sister and two brothers.

Friends may call an hour before the service at the church.

Hoff Funeral Homes-St. Charles Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
