Edward Lee Bailey, 67, of Sissonville departed this world peacefully Sunday, March 2, 2008, at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Rosie Eileen and Okey Samuel Bailey, and sister, Charlotte Ann Jones.

He graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School. Edward enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served from 1959 through 1963, where he was a corporal E-4. He served his country proudly.
He retired in 2006 from Cedar Ridge Center, Sissonville, as environmental supervisor, where he was known as Mr. Ed. He loved sports and fishing.

He will be sadly and greatly missed by his family and friends.Edward was a loving husband, dad, papa and great-grandpa.Edward is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jewell Bailey of Sissonville; daughters and sons-in-laws, Ruth Ann and Dorsel Fields and Deborah and Timothy Jones, all of Sissonville; sons and daughter-in-laws, Edward Samuel and Rose Bailey of Charleston and Shawn Lee and Missy Bailey of Kenna; granddaughter and husband, Kristen and Tommy Landers of Sissonville; granddaughter, Rebecca Jones of Cross Lanes; grandson, Casey Jones of Sissonville; twin grandsons, Cody and Cory Bailey of Kenna; great-grandchildren, Samuel and Daniel Landers of Sissonville and Jasmine and Jaxon Ranson of Cross Lanes; stepgrandchildren, J.D. Edens of Charleston and Jackie Belcher of Mason County.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all who were involved at CAMC Memorial Hospital MICU and Dr. Takuba for the care that was given to Edward and support that was given to the family. May God Bless each of you.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Nick Bird officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico, with military graveside rites provided by the Marine Corps League Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Detachment 947, Charleston, W.Va.
Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home is serving the Bailey family.
