Donald W. Shebesta, age 95, of 15428 Buck Lane, Mishicot, passed away early Saturday morning, March 11, 2023 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc with family at his side.

Donald was born in the township of Mishicot on September 29, 1927 to Wenzel and Mary (Aulik) Shebesta. He grew up on the family farm, helping with the day to day operations for many years. On October 7, 1950 he married Kathryn A. Krofta at Nativity of the Blessed Mary Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2001. Mr. Shebesta was a member of Operators Engineers Local #139 for sixty years, and worked as a heavy equipment operator for forty years.

Don enjoyed being outdoors. He liked cutting wood, making maple syrup, hunting, and loved deer camp. He was a lifetime member of the Pleasant View Gun Club. Donald also enjoyed having peacocks around his yard for many years; he loved gardening and taking his produce to the local markets; he was an avid sheepshead player and enjoyed playing cards with several card clubs; and he loved old-time music, dancing polkas & waltzes, and especially listening to the Romy Gosz Orchestra.

He is survived by his children: Colleen (James) Mleziva, Connie (Gary) Kunz, Patrick (Terry) Shebesta, Carol (John) McClary, Todd Shebesta (special friend, Robin Cowen), Scott (Sharon) Shebesta, and Robert Shebesta; ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Shirley Kent; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wenzel and Mary Shebesta, his wife, Kathryn; one son, Michael Shebesta; one grandson, Kenneth Kunz; five sisters, and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2023 at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. Rev.
