Myrtle G. Sternberger, 98, 2121 W. 19th St., died Thursday, April 20, 1989, at a Sioux City hospital after a short illness. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Calvin Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Susan Ryder officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. by the Moose Lodge #431 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Royal Neighbors. Mrs. Sternberger, the former Myrtle G. Bates, was born April 22, 1890, in Sergeant Bluff. She married William Aulerich and later married Ignatious Sternberger. She has lived in Sioux City since 1973. Before that she lived in Homer, Neb. and Hudson, Wis. Mrs. Sternberger was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Moose Lodge #431, the Moose Music Maides and she also was a member of the Girls of '68 and the Royal Neighbors. Survivors include a daughter, Viola Lane of Sioux City; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
