On September 17, 2019, Elizabeth, a pedestrian, was struck and killed by a flatbed truck in an incident at or near the intersection of LaSalle Street and Grand Avenue in Chicago. She was utilizing a marked crosswalk, possessed the right-of-way over the subject truck. She died as a result of the injuries she sustained. At the time of the incident, Elizabeth was in utero with Hannah Elizabeth Boshardy. Hannah was delivered at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. 4 days later, on September 21, 2019, as a result of injuries she sustained in this incident, Hannah died at their NICU unit .
