Francis was one of five children of Bernard and Emily (Leapline) Bigley.

His siblings were:

1. John Bigley of Clarksville, PA
2. David Bigley (Deceased) of Washington, PA
3. Regina Bigley-Lambie-Nazimek of Connellsville, PA
4. Lois Jean Bigley of Dunbar, PA

Francis was a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, and taught Industrial Arts, Metal&Wood Shop/Surveying/Drafting/Drivers Education for 33 years at Mapletown High School and retired in 1998. Butch/Zeek/Fran/Mr. Big/Coach Big, held many positions at the school to include Athletic Director, Boy's and Girls Baseball/Softball/Basketball/Football Coach and was the Head Boy's Varsity Basketball Coach at Mapletown H.S. for 20 years, a PIAA/WPIAL Basketball Official for 30 years, and coached Little League Baseball for 10 years at Monview Park, Greensboro, PA.

Francis married Louise Williams who was the love of his life. The couple had four children:

1. Evonne Bigley-DeNome-Irondi of Martinsburg, W.Va
2. Bernard Bigley of Miami, FL
3. Timothy Bigley of Bobtown, PA
4. Michael Bigley Esq. of Carmichaels, PA

In addition Frances had 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren that he was very proud of. They were:

2. Ashley Barker-Bigley-Hazard, Spokane, WA
3. Nicholas Bigley, Bobtown, PA
4. Taylor Bigley, Seattle, WA

His family have many fond memories of their times together and they miss him greatly.
