Steven Brett Fricks, 47, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, in Raleigh.
Brett was born on March 10, 1960, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., to Flavil Paul "Sonny" and Joan Sinks Fricks. He was a graduate of Eldorado High School and Shawnee Community College. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Eldorado.
Brett is survived by his father and stepmother, Flavil Paul "Sonny" and Anna Fricks of Cookville, Texas; stepfather, Donald V. Ferrell of Raleigh; one brother and sister-in-law, Jonathan and Juanita Fricks of Raleigh; two nephews, Jonathan and Jordan Fricks of Raleigh; grandmother, Dorothy Fricks of Jonesboro; aunts and uncles, Nancy (Jimmy) Watkins, Robert D. "Bobby" Fricks, and Lana Benefield of Jonesboro, Thomas (Loyce) Fricks of Rossville, Ga. and Barbara Moran of Marietta, Ga.; a special cousin, Suellen (Danny) King of Canton, Ga.; and numerous cousins and friends.
Brett was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Ferrell of Raleigh; grandparents, Thomas Jefferson and Ruth Fricks of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and stepgrandparents, Robert and Bonnie Ferrell of Eldorado.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with the Rev. Randy Carstens officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dr. Joan Ferrell Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg.
