Son of the late Leroy and Mary Bailey Ausbon. He was a lifelong resident of the Leggetts Crossroads. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he was employed with the Department of Agriculture for more than 35 years an inspector. For the past 15 years, he worked at the Farmers Market in Raleigh as its assistant manager. He was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church and the Bear Grass Ruritan Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James R. Ausbon, and three sisters, Mary Wheatcraft, Lillie Fulford and Shirley Revels. He was survived by three brothers; one sister; and an extended family of relatives and friends. Funeral held on March 5, 2008.
