Obituary for Johnny Arnold
November 19, 1935 - March 12, 2023

RINGGOLD - Mr. Johnny Milton Arnold, 87, left his earthly home for his heavenly home on Sunday, March 12, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Johnny was born in Nashville, TN on November 19, 1935.

Johnny grew up in the Chattanooga area spending much of his time at the local YMCA swimming and enjoying the Ocee Summer Camp. He graduated from Central High School in the class of 1954 where he was a member of the Boxing Team. He was also involved in the Golden Gloves of Chattanooga, and an avid Alabama football fan. Johnny met the love of his life, Mae Roberts at the county fair and they were married two years later. Johnny loved the family vacations he and Mae spent with the family.

Johnny was a devout Christian and a member of East Ridge church of Christ for over 50 years. He served that church as a deacon and taught Bible classes. He worked for over 40 years for Combustion Engineering before his retirement. Johnny will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr.Frank Arnold and Mrs. Mossie Reed Arnold. Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mrs. Mae Roberts Arnold, his daughters, Sherry(Ron)Anthony, and Tammy(DeWayne)Walker, grandchildren; Alex(Jackson) Hensley, Will Anthony Brittany(Craig) Dedmon, Matt Anthony, Mike(Amanda)Anthony, and Brandon Walker, great grandchildren; Kailyn, Myleigh and Bradley, sister-in-law, Judi Hinnard, nephew, Tim(Andrea) Hinnard, and niece, Stacy(Scott)Wilson.

A funeral service for Johnny will be conducted in the chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory South Crest Chapel on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 2pm with the ministers Charles Cochran and Steve Plemmons officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lakewood Memory Gardens South. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 4-7pm and again on Wednesday, March 15 from 1 pm until the service hour.
