He surrendered with his unit in Greensboro, N. C. He applied for a pension because of rheumatism, problem with his left leg and other health problems. His wife, Julia Riley Murphy also has a pension application in the GA Archives. She poves marriage to him on Feb. 3, 1901 in Sumter County, Ga and says he died 11/29/ 1925. She gives her DOB as 12/12/1867 and says she lived in Leslie, GA. See pension 187820-00803 in the GA Archives. Neather one seems to have a memorial page as yet. I could not find a death certificate on either.
