Obituary for Mrs. Anita Ursula Adams
Anita Ursula Adams nee Thomas was born February 01, 1929, in No 73 Village Corentyne Berbice Guyana. She was one of four children born to the late Madeline Thomas and Rudy Georgeson. She went peacefully to her eternal rest on Sunday March 12th, 2023, at home while under the care of Champion Hospice of Conyers, GA. And her loving children and grandchildren surrounding her. Anita started her early education at Messiah Primary school and then went on to attend Tagore Memorial High School at No 63 Village where she received her Junior Cambridge. (GCE). After graduating she started an early career of being a kindergarten teacher. Anita valued education as it showed the importance of hard work and discipline. Anita married her one true love Louis Adams (deceased)on August 30th, 1946. That wonderful union produced 7 children of which two has preceded her in death. Anita and Louie's true wealth lied in the happiness and togetherness of their children. From the moment she took her wedding oath she stood firm and strong by her husband until he passed away. She proceeded to take on the role as head of household and kept the family unit as tight as it could be. Her love and warmth carried through her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren are felt today. She valued the word of God and instilled the love of his presence in us all. She was a woman of pleasantness and was affable. Though quiet her presence and love were felt in every room she entered and left. Anita gladly took the role of being a grandmother as one of the most noble titles that could have ever been bestowed upon her. In true fashion of wanting to make sure her children succeeded in life she became a second mother to her own children's children. As a few embarked on their journey to America without question Anita stepped in and took on the role of being Mommy Sis. She provided love and comfort to all the grandchildren that it left a few confused as her love was so great, they thought she was their mother. When confronted on whether she was their real mother or not she would give the biggest laugh and say I am all your mother. She loved to cook and took great joy in seeing her family assembled in laughter. Anita was never afraid of death as she knew she would be going on to the kingdom of God and be surrounded by her husband and loved ones that preceded her in death. She would always say this body is nothing, but a shell and the spirit is what will always live on with God. Anita was in a very happy place the past few years as in true fashion her children and grandchildren showered her with love and happiness. Anita was preceded in death by her three siblings Etlan Georgeson (deceased), Enid Tyndall(deceased) and Lambert Lection(deceased). Left to cherish many memories are her Children Herbert Adams, Winifred Alphonso. Waveney Johnson, Stanley Adams, and Jennifer Adams. Anita also leaves behind her daughter in law Etheline Adams and son in law Owen Johnson granddaughter in law Nikki Alphonso and grandson in law Jerome Joseph of the USA, her grandchildren Pamela Mathieson, Pearl Adams, Ron Alphonso Sean Alphonso Odetta Joseph Simone Johnson Jomo Adams Ian Adams Tandy Adams and Jude Adams of USA Tito Adams Sheldon Adams Roddick Adams Ryan Adams Orin Johnson Max Johnson of Guyana and Kevin Adams of Antigua ,29 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren that will love her forever.
