Eliza married John Adair in Ireland and their first child was born there before they emigrated to Upper Canada, first to the Newburgh, Upper Canada area and then to Tamworth, Upper Canada. She died at the age of 94 after suffering with cancer for ten years, developing severe cancer of the face. She was of Methodist persuasion. After John died she remained on the family farm, which was farmed by her son John Jr. She was buried on the home farm Lot 3 Concession 6, Sheffield Township, Lennox and Addington County, On. near Tamworth.
