Mrs. Cornette was born on February 4, 1909, in Rockingham County, the daughter of the late Henry Thomas Griffin and the late Sally Lou Moore Griffin. She was retired from Kiddie Tot Hosiery in High Point and was a member of Mayodan United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Drew Frank Hawkins and R.A. Cornette; sister, Pearl Riggs; and brothers, Jimmy Griffin, Clarence Griffin, and Clyde Griffin.
She is survived by her son, Frank Hawkins and wife Hutokah "Toby" of Mocksville; sisters, Betty Williams of Mayodan and Edna Dickens of High Point; one grandson, Drew Frank Hawkins; one great grandson, Curtis Lee Hawkins; two great-great grandchildren; special niece, Gladys Dodson; and special sister-in-law, Louise Griffin.
