Former Seminole resident Elsie Loree Dollar Metcalf, 87, died November 14, 2004 in Tulsa. She was born February 9, 1917 in Prentiss County, Mississippi to O.B. and Mattie L. McClung Dollar.

She was raised in Seminole County and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. She was a resident of Edmond for over 50 years before moving to Tulsa.

She worked many years as a bakery manager for the Humpty Dumpty Grocery Store in Edmond. Upon her retiring from the store she became a house mom for the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority at central State University.

Mrs. Metcalf also served as a Camp Fire Girls leader earlier in her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Edmond and was involved in the Eastern Star when she was younger. She was a tireless worker and enjoyed sewing, gardening and spending time with her family.

Her siblings Dean, Flavos, Floyd, Cecil, Junior, Lola and Lodessey Dollar preceded her in death.

She is survived by daughter, Rita Johns of Claremore, two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister, Martha Lancaster of Del City and four step-grandchildren.

Graveside services for are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Little Cemetery with Mike Marker officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Leonard and Marker Funeral Home of Bixby.

The family requests that memorials be made to a charity of choice.
