Alfredo "Al" Mario Reza, 93, of Hyattsville, Maryland passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023. He was born on July 29, 1929 in San Angelo, Texas to the late Elvira (Medina) and Nicolas Reza. Reared in Ohio. He married Geraldine Ware on May 21, 1955 in Washington, D.C. and they celebrated 67 years of marriage together.
Al is survived by his three sons and their wives: Alan (Stephanie) Reza, Adam (Margaret) Reza, and Michael (Beki) Reza. He is survived by his grandchildren and their spouses: Kristen Reza (David Atkins), Adam Reza II (Katie Harris), Ana Reza-Burkett (Mario Burkett), Austin Reza, Alan Reza Jr., and Spencer Reza. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Ava Reza-Mason, Ezra Atkins, Josephine Atkins, Charlie Atkins, and Covey Burkett. He is survived by his siblings and their significant others: Jean Reza, Adolf Reza, Esther Lopez, Katy and Sammy Huerta, Rufus Reza, and Anita Jordan. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Julio Reza and Vince Reza.
Al served in the United States Army during the end of World War II and throughout the Korean War. He was a proud veteran. He worked for Nabisco for nearly forty years. He was committed to his sons and served as their soccer coach for many years. He served as the Maryland State Soccer Commissioner during this time period. He trained to become a pilot at the College Park Airport and he loved flying planes. He served as a Knight for the Knights of Columbus for many years. He is remembered for his loyalty and commitment to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
