Juanita Hodgson, 97, Fargo, ND., died on Saturday, March 18, at her home, with family members at her side.
Juanita Violet Hodgson, one of nine children, was born on January 1, 1926, to Russell and Olga Wilson, in Arthur, ND. Juanita attended school in Arthur, and graduated in 1943.
On January 17, 1944, she married Clarence "Bill" Hodgson, in Fargo. They lived and farmed near Arthur, from 1944 until 1971. In 1972, they moved to the Hodgson family homesteaded farm, near Argusville, ND., where they lived until 2017.
Juanita was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, in Arthur, Vice President and President of the Argusville Cemetery Association, and a proud member of the Arthur Post #223 and Harwood Post #297 American Legion Auxiliary, for the past 79 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Juanita loved to cook and bake, tend her garden, and for the past 20 years, spend time at their Big McDonald Lake home, near Vergas, Minnesota.
Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Bill of 72 years; her parents; brothers: Floyd and Marvin; and sister, Arleta.
She is survived by brothers: Russell Jr., Mundelein, lL., Don of Tustin, CA.; sisters: Delores Johnson, Fargo, ND., Janet Larson, Naples, FL., Marie (Jerald) Grieger, Fargo, ND.; five children: Diane (Eddie) Poehls of Tolna, ND., Ginger (Duane) Fowler, of Fargo, ND., Larry (Glenna), of New York Mills, MN., Lynn (Sherry) of Argusville, ND., and David (Marilyn) of Wyndmere, ND.; 17 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 5 - 7 pm, with a Prayer Service held at 7 pm, all in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
Funeral Service: Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 11 am, in St. John Lutheran Church, Arthur, ND., with visitation one hour prior to her service.
Burial: Argusville (ND) Cemetery
