Born on Oct. 5, 1930, in New Haven, Missouri, to Edward and Emma, he graduated from New Haven High School in 1947. He went on to study accounting at Columbia University.
With a degree in finance, he served as a commissioned officer for four years. He was stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and in Nagoya, Japan.
He began his first job at Lockheed as an assistant accountant.
He traveled extensively in the Far East and Europe, stationed in Singapore, Switzerland and China.
In 1950, Bob met his future spouse JoAnn Young on a blind date. They were married in 1951 and had four children: Steven, Craig, Brian and Brad.
He retired in 1998 and spent his time traveling with his wife and planning family gatherings and events.
His wife, son Brad and grandson Nick predeceased him.
