Alberta Barrow, 76, passes away suddenly Monday, Jan. 18, at Candler Hospital in Savannah. She was a Sunday School teacher and lay minister for many years. She was a floor supervisor for Claxton Manufacturing Plant and later manager of the plant's outlet store. She was an avid reader, devoted mother, grandmother (beloved "Nanna") and great grandmother. Alberta was devoted to the work of God's kingdom; she was loved by all and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Barrow; her parents, Albert C. Bethel and Helen Flanders Bethel Campbell of Colorado; son [Ken was son-in-law, m. to Alberta's daughter, Ann]; half-brother, Albert Lee Bethel; half-sister, Alice Lingenfelter. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Joseph C. (Jody) (Dr. Susan Barrow) of Peachtree City, GA., Fayette County, GA., Timothy (Renee) Barrow of Hagan; one daughter, Ann Seiber of Claxton; one sister, Glydys Fa Coseo; three half-brothers, Harvey and James Bethel, both of Colorado; one step-sister, Miki Roth; eight grandchildren, Casey Erin Neidlinger, Joseph O'Rion Barrow, Kenneth Garrett Seiber, Joseph C. Barrow, III, Blythe M. Barrow, Michael Akers, Christian Akers, Ashley Trudon; two great-grandchildren, Dax Oneal Neidlinger and Elanor Rose Trudon. Visitation will be be Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mellie Nesmith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, at 2 p.m. at Liberty Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy in Claxton with the Rev. Jonathan Brown and Rev. Jason Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Emmaus Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry West, Danny Rewis, Adrian West, Garrett Seiber, Dean Cameron and Orion Barrow. Honorary pallbearers will be Theron DeLoach, Tommy and David Barrow and Ronald Butler. Remembrances may be sent to Liberty Fellowship Youth Fund (for summer camps), 403 E. James St., Claxton, GA, 30417. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
