Mary Linda Starnes, 74, of Columbus, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Linda was born in Newport, Arkansas in 1949.

Linda was a proud member of the United Pentecostal Church. She and her husband Allen traveled across the United States evangelizing and also pastored a church in Thayer, Missouri for several years. Linda loved her family more than anything in the world. She was the most kind, selfless, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Linda always went the extra mile to do everything for all of her family. She loved to cook and especially loved to teach her granddaughters all of her famous recipes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and one sister.

Linda leaves her husband of 58 years, Clarence Allen Starnes of the home; one daughter, Sherry Foster and her husband LaMont of Hastings, Nebraska; one son, Mark Starnes and his wife Robyn of Manila, Arkansas; brother, Otis Long and his wife Kaye of Lake City, Arkansas; brother, Boyce Long and his wife Diane of Manila, Arkansas; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Erica, Andy and Lainey Adams of Hastings, Nebraska. MacKenzie and Bobby Merryman and Declan of Memphis, Tennessee, Kelsea and Cody Johnson and Wilder of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Kaleigh and Charles Crigger and Cottongail, Charlotte and Carrington of Blytheville, Arkansas, Ashlye and Zach Harrell and Lane, Levi and Lux of Leachville, Arkansas, and Kassidy Starnes and Riley Davis, Jaxon, August and Addalyn of Paragould, Arkansas; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert White officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
