Mary Virginia Davis Auman, age 90 of 5968 Old Troy Road, Asheboro, NC passed on Monday, March 3, 2008, at Randolph Hospital after an extended illness.

Virginia was born July 12, 1917 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Roy Jesse Davis and Ida Farrington Davis. Her family moved to Randolph County when she was a young girl. She was the eldest of thirteen children and was called "Sis" by all her brothers and sisters.

Virginia was a homemaker for most of her life and retired with eighteen years of service from Lucks, Inc. of Seagrove. She always had a sweet smile, a hug and kiss, and "I love you" for everyone.

She was the widow of Edward Auman who passed in March 1970. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Helen Davis Carter, Ruby Davis Sikes, and Peggy Davis Inman; brothers: Edgar Davis, James Davis, Elsworth Davis, and Charles Ray (Buck) Davis; and son-in-law, Andy J. Hancock.

She is survived by one daughter of Asheboro, one daughter of Seagrove, three sons all of Asheboro, eight grandchildren, one great-grandson, two
sisters of Asheboro, one sister of Franklinville, one sister of Conway, SC, one brother of Climax, many nieces and nephews.

Harold Hammond officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on New Hope Church Road, Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6-8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, and other times at the home.

The family expresses appreciation to all who helped with her care, sent cards, kept her in their prayers, and visited her during her extended illness.
