He was one of the directors of the board of the "Society of the Moscow-Yaroslavl-Arkhangelsk railway". In 1896, together with his relative a Moscow entrepreneur S.I. Mamontov - founded company for the operation of the Nikolaev metallurgical plant in the Altai district of the Irkutsk province. In 1897 together with S. I. Mamontov rented Altai enterprises - the Guryev Metallurgical Plant, 7 iron mines and coal mines. In the same year Artsybushev and Mamontov founded the Mytishchi machine-building plant in the Moscow region, which is still operating under the name Metrovagonmash.
