TWO FUNERAL SERVICES FOR AUSTIN ALLEN

Two funeral services were conducted today for Austin Allen, former resident and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Austin Allen of Joplin, who died at 12:45 o'clock Saturday afternoon in a Tulsa hospital.

Services were conducted this morning at the Stanley-McCune Chapel at Tulsa, and the body was brought to Joplin for services at 2:30 o'clock at the grave in Mount Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Alfred L. du Domaine was in charge of the latter services.

Mr. Allen was chief engineer of the production department of the Phillips Petroleum Company, and pallbearers were officers and fellow employees of the company.

Harry Yinger
R.A. Hendricks
F.M. Stephenson
Frank Akright
Lloyd Lacey

Mr. Allen died unexpectedly following a brief illness. His home in recent months had been in Bartlesville where he was employed by the Phillips Company.

He attended the Joplin schools and was graduated from the University of Missouri. He was a member of the Episcopal Church. The late John Henry Taylor was his maternal grandfather, and the late John Whitby Allen, prominent in the mining industry in this district, was his paternal grandfather.

He was married only last August 14 to Miss Ann McWilliams. Surviving, besides his widow, are
Two brothers, Andrea and John Allen,
Two aunts, Mrs. Percy Butler
Mrs. Fred. Minard,
all of California,
Another aunt, Mrs. John Curran of Tulsa.
His brother Andrew arrived at Tulsa yesterday by plane for the services.
