Professional Wrestler. He is known best for his time with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) under the moniker of "The Genius." His career started in the 1970s, working for his father, Angelo Poffo, in the ICW territory that ran opposition to the main Tennessee territories (Knoxville, Memphis, most famously & Nashville) under the alias of "Leaping" Lanny Poffo. In 1985, he joined Vince McMahon's WWF as a premilitary enhancement talent until 1989, when he was repackaged as The Genius. In the first year of his repackaging, he was the first manager for "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig, a partnership that lasted until mid-1990. After the split from Mr. Perfect, a year later, he became a manager (once again) but for The Beverley Brothers (Blake & Beau) while making sporadic in-ring appearances. He was one of the first wrestlers to use the moonsault, a move that became popular in the years to come.
