Henry J. Edsall, 79, resident of Manatee County since 1922, died at 5 a.m. today. The family home is at Inslee Groves on the South Tamiami Trail.

He came here from Philadelphia to manage the Inslee Groves after retiring as a mechanical engineer. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, serving on its vestry for many years and was an honorary member of the Bradenton Rotary Club.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alice S. Edsall, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Gilbert P. Smith, New York City; one son, Robert S. Edsall, Vero Beach, and two grandchildren.
A private funeral service will be held in The Chapel of the Crematory at Manasota Burial Park with the Rev. Fred T. Kyle, rector of Christ Episcopal Church, officiating. Funeral Home Shannon is in charge. … (Bradenton, FL, Herald, Tue., 24 Nov 1953, p. 2)
