LaVerne was a graduate of Bradford High School. During World War II, she worked in a munitions plant in Chicago, Illinois. Mrs. Falwell and her late husband, Ed, resided for a number of years in Camden, Arkansas where he owned and operated the Western Auto Store and LaVerne worked as an insurance specialist in the medical field. She was a member of the Maul Road Church of Christ in Camden and the Bradford Church of Christ in Bradford. She enjoyed playing Rook, cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks and the St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with family and friends. She was lovingly called "Mimi" by just about everyone. She never lacked for friends because she knew that the secret to friendship was knowing how to be a friend.
LaVerne is survived by her son, Dennis Falwell (Jan); 2 granddaughters, Tracy Long (John) and Kris Falwell; 2 great-grandsons, A.J. Long and Adam White, as well as numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Aaron White.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob with Danny Blevins officiating. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Coffeyville Cemetery.
