Joseph C. Bowyer of Worthington, Columbus passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer, at The Arbors of Dublin on 3/29/2023. He was 78 years old.

Joe was born on March 2, 1945, in Paulding, OH. He was a 1963 graduate of Paulding High School and served as Class President. He went on to attend the Naval Academy, Tulane University and The Ohio State University. Throughout his career, he worked in several locations in oil exploration. He was a 50-year member of the American Association of Professional Landmen AAPL.

Joe was a simple man, choosing to forgo such modern conveniences as a TV or mobile phone. He was an avid historian and voracious reader. He loved to discuss historical events and had a witty sense of humor. One of his favorite daily activities was eating at his local Bob Evans.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother and father, Isabelle and Clarence Bowyer, as well as his sister, Rachel (Sam) Paradiso of Tiffin.

His niece and nephews have fond memories of trips to the family farm in Paulding looking for arrowheads, talking about history, attending 4th of July fireworks parties, and celebrating all of the holidays together as a family.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Den Herder Funeral Home with Rev. Ian Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Paulding.
