Vincenzo Nicholas Barrasso was born in Avellino, Italy. He made the journey to the United States in 1910, where he worked at different times as a toolmaker and shoe polisher (bootblack). In 1920, Vincenzo married Maria D'Arazio, who had recently emigrated from Avellino, Italy. The two had six children, a girl (Rose), and five boys (Nicholas, Joseph, Anthony, Domenic, and Frank). The family lived on Paris Street in East Boston. In 1937, Vincenzo died of pneumonia, in Boston, Massachusetts.
