My daughters, and son-in-law said goodbye to their sweet old beagle boy yesterday. My daughter adopted him 10 years ago when he was just a 3-year-old pup. Mr. Bean never liked men before Corey (and frankly, same), but they became inseparable. And Corey's sweet golden girl Bailey was the best big sister to Bean. Bean was - loud. LOUD. That beagle bay is pretty distinctive. He loved exploring scents outside and yelling when something excited him. He loved food. All food, any food. Locks have been on all of our trashcans; Kleenex have been kept on high shelves. He was a beggar extraordinaire. And if his big eyes couldn't convince you to share, he was also excellent at sneakily grabbing what he wanted and tiptoeing away. And much like his parents, Bean would never turn down a nap. He loved to sleep on pillows, he loved to stick his head under blankets even in the heat of summer. And best of all, he loved to snuggle right next to us - fur to skin.
I miss him terribly.
