Margaret went to Ft. Collins, CO after graduating from Clayton High School in 1950 for one year of college, majoring in nutrition. She then went to Dallas, TX and entered nursing school receiving a nursing degree from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. She quickly became a supervisor of a 45 bed surgical unit. She then was asked by Texas Employers Insurance Association to establish a department to manage rehabilitation cases. She established a local care facility which would enable patients to remain in their home area. In 1961 she attended New York University, taking courses in Advanced Rehabilitation methods. In 1980 she attended Riceland College, majoring in Developmental Psychology, and took an RN Refresher Course at the Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas in 1982.
She was certified as an Insurance Rehabilitation Specialist in 1985, certified by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization, and certified as a Case Manager in 1994.
Retired in 1998, from her nursing career, she began another career in alternative holistic preventative care.
