Roger "Keith" Betts, loving father, son, brother, and Pappaw peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the age of 67, after a short battle with cancer.

He was born in Texarkana, Arkansas, on January 31, 1956, the son of Lee and Joy Betts. Keith graduated from Texas Senior High School in 1974, then joined the U.S. Air Force in 1975. After he left the Air Force as a Sergeant, Keith began working at Red River Army Depot in 1979. He was later accepted into the U.S. Army Supply Management Intern Program in 1980. Upon graduation he was reassigned to Rock Island Arsenal in 1981. Keith and Donna were united in marriage on August 20, 1983, and later divorced.

Keith retired from the U.S. Army, Joint Munitions Command, Rock Island, IL, on Mar 1, 2011. During his tenure, he worked with bombs, rockets, grenades, pyrotechnics, Navy gun ship ammo, demolition material, CADs/PADs, Hydra 70 rocket system, and retired as Product Lead, Small Caliber Division (.50 Caliber, 9mm, Shot shells). Keith enjoyed all of his positions at the Arsenal along with the many friends he made over his career there.

Charismatic, generous and compassionate are just a few of the many words family and friends would use to describe him. Keith was a very loving person who enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and grand dogs. He loved to travel, enjoyed spending time by the pool, and watched his favorite sitcoms with his long time best friend, Robert Bentley. He had a very special way of making people feel welcome and would always light up the room with his smile. One question that will always remain is, which one of his children was his favorite?

Keith is preceded in death by his father, Lee Betts, and brother, Randall Betts.

He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends , but his memory and legacy will live forever in all of us!

He will be cremated and buried in the National Cemetery on Arsenal Island.
