ROY EARL POTEET

Roy Earl Poteet, son of Lenora (Dean) and Jesse T. Poteet, was born October 21, 1888 in Trenton, Nebr. He moved to Pawnee county as a small boy and had resided in this area until he passed away March 1, 1963 at the age of 74 years, four months and eight days.
He was married to Margaret May Henderson on November 5, 1914 at Burchard. They enjoyed 48 years of married life while living in their home south of Burchard.
To this union three daughters were born, Audrey Anna, Camilla Nadean and Maude Mae Poteet.
He was a devoted husband and father. The welfare of his family and the joy of life was above all things in his everyday living.
He was a member of the Buchard Methodist Church and took an active part in many community projects and gave freely of his time until ill health made it necessary for hime to retire.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three daughters, Audrey Wehrbein of Steinauer, Camilla Bookwalter of Lawrence, Kansas and Maude Sejkora of Burchard; three son-in-laws, vernon Wehrbein, J. Wayne Bookwalter and Raymond Sejkora; nine grandchildren, John Wayne Bookwalter Jr., of Visalia, Calif., Boyd Lee Wehrbein of Barstow, Calif., Judith Bond of Emporia, Kans., Patti Sejkora of Washington D.C., Margaret Schmit of Lincoln, Janet McCoy, Myrna, Bradford and Bruce Sejkora of Burchard; three great-grandsons, Scott Bond, Mark Schmit and Charles McCoy and many friends.
Palbearers were Earl Yarpe, Harold Stake, Henry deKoning, Stanley Sejkora, Morris Martin and Henry Bachenberg.
Interment was in the Burchard cemetery.
