Mrs. Geneva Hampton, 55, of Cedar Bluff, passed away Thursday, Sept. 23, at her residence. She was a native of St. Charles, Va. and had been a resident of Cherokee County for 18 years and was a homemaker.
Services were Sunday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m., in the Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Jim Burkhart and Billy Saxon officiating. Burial was in Cherokee Memory Gardens, with Perry Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Hampton is survived by her husband, Allen Hampton; a son, Joseph Brian Hampton of Summerville, Ga.; two daughters, Aljeane Shields of Calhoun, Ga. and Angela Lea of Cedar Bluff; her mother Dullice Rose Mooneyhan of Tipp City, Ohio; four brothers, Marion Mooneyhan of Versailes, Ohio, Virgil Mooneyhan of St. Charles, Va., James Mooneyhan of El Paso, Texas, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hampton was preceded in death by her sons, Daniel Lee Hampton in 1961 and Martin Gregory Hampton in 1982 and her father, Archie Mooneyhan.
