Margaret Anna 'Peggy' Berringer, 74, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma died on Monday, April 3, 2023. She was born April 21, 1948, in Omaha, Nebraska to Paul and Ruth Petersen, and she grew up in Kansas City. After she married she moved to Oklahoma City and called St. Eugene her parish home for almost 50 years. Peggy raised three daughters at St. Eugene and was very active in the school community including Girl Scouts, homeroom mom, field trips and sports. She was active in the Church community too with Altar Society, women's bowling league, Church sacristan and Meals on Wheels. She was a devoted mom and grandma, taking pure delight in her grandchildren. Peggy was diagnosed with esophageal and liver cancer in August. She went through chemotherapy and immunotherapy, she said she wanted her grandchildren to know that she fought to spend more time with them! She fought hard to overcome her diagnosis all the while continuing to help her get her granddaughter to after school activities and oversee Meals on Wheels at St. Eugene, she would never let her doctor visits or procedures interfere with those things! Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Brenda. She was survived by her daughters, Jenny Blevins and husband Mitch, Karen Coy and husband Riley; grandchildren, Gray, Harper and Nora Blevins; her sister, Paula Stubblebine and husband Dick; and a brother, John Petersen and wife Terry. We take great comfort in believing that even though we will miss her terribly it is now Brenda's turn to be with mom. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, 13 April, at St. Eugene Catholic Church, Oklahoma City, with interment at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
