Wasilla resident Edward "Eddy" James Magee, 33, died Jan. 14 at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. The cause of death was blocked arteries, according to his family. A service was held at Kehl's Palmer Mortuary. A visitation began 30 minutes before the service. Burial took place at Palmer Pioneer Cemetery.

Mr. Magee was born March 23, 1959, in Sacramento, Calif. In 1970, he traveled to Alaska with his family, and made his home in the Matanuska-Susitna valley area. Mr. Magee served in the Army National Guard from 1976 to 1982. He was stationed at Fort Dix, N.J., and then in Alaska, where he received an honorable discharge. He attended Palmer High School. He earned his general equivalency diploma in 1979. "Hunting, fishing, family and friends were the top priorities in Eddy's life," his family said.

Mr. Magee is survived by his wife, Betty; and his children, Shampagne, Tristan, Eddy II, Jacob and Tiffany, all of Wasilla; his parents, William and Lucille of Wasilla; his brothers and sisters-in-law, William Jr. and Sandy of Palmer; Tony and Jody, Johnny and Kim, and Robert, all of Wasilla; his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Billy Greenstreet of Homer; his grandmother, Helen of Sacramento, Calif.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Memorial Fund for Eddy's Children, in care of Mat-Valley Credit Union, 1020 S. Bailey, Palmer, 99645.
