He was born in Ellison Ridge, West Virginia on 7 Jun 1934 to the Carl Owen and Ruby Pearl Basham Okes. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alice Frances Pack Okes, brothers, Luther Ray Okes and William Hugh Okes, sister, Wilma Gay Okes Sheppard. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service. Les was a former member of the Blacksburg Fire Department and First Aid Crew.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lesa Karen and Brian Seberle, sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie Keven and Debra Okes, L. Kraig and Lori Okes, grandchildren, Kristie Lindgren and husband, Russ, Jason Seberle, Taylor Okes, Danielle Okes, great-grandchildren, Reagan Lindgren, Kamren Lindgren, sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy Scott, Wilda and Lonzie Linkous, sisters-in-law, Phyllis Okes and Helen Okes, several nieces and nephews.
To be cremated and burial will be at Lilly-Crews Cemetery. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
