Carol was a passionate reader and enjoyed playing board games with her friends and family. She loved being social and held many close friendships throughout her life. She traveled any chance she got and looked forward to the opportunity to attend local plays and ballets. Community was important to Carol. Whether it was reading to the visually impaired on WILL radio station or being a volunteer Firefighter at the Oakwood Fire Department, Carol helped in her community any way she could. It was not unusual for Carol to have a science fiction or action movie on the television when guests stopped by.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, son Kevin Davis, and brothers James Peugh and Harry Plotner. She is survived by her daughter Brundy (Jeff) Lyons of Fairmount and her grandchildren Tyler Lyons of Fairmount and Tommie Davis of West Virginia. She was also survived by her sister Linda (Frank) Myler of Oakwood, sisters-in-law Rita Plotner and Lauren Peugh, along with many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her close friends Becky, Teresa, Toni, Diana, and Jan.
A committal service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 10 am at Sunset Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum, located at 3901 N. Vermilion Street in Danville, Illinois. She will be laid to rest with her son, Kevin, at the Memorial Park following the service.
