Requiem High Mass was offered Wednesday at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption by Rev J.T. Kelly for Bernard Robert (Benny) Belany Saturday here.
Pallbearers were Archie Lalonde, Albert Lalonde, Richard Lavictoire, Rene Millette, Gordon Morrison and Lockey Goddard. Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Bom at Temagami July 11, 1918 Mr. Belaney was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Archie Belaney. His father was the famous "Grey Owl" well-known naturalist and lecturer on wildlife.
Bernard Belaney was educated at Temagami where he lived until six years ago, when he moved to North Bay. His marriage to the former Irene Villeneuve took place at Temagami September 20, 1950. He attended the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption.
Besides his step-father William Turner, he is survived by his wife; three sons, Archie (Hank), Robert and Thomas, all of North Bay and a sister, Mrs. Romeo Lalonde (Agnes) of Temagami.
