Nellie was two years old when she died of "Congestion of Brain" at the family's home on Silver St. in South Boston. She was initially buried in Tomb 3 at the Hawes Burying Ground in South Boston, however, on Nov. 2, 1866 her body was exhumed and reburied at the Forest Hills Cemetery in Jamaica Plain.
Of note is the fact that her mother Frances was still alive in 1920 and residing with her son-in-law and granddaughter George S. and Helen Cabot.
