William Edgar McCoy, 74, of Columbus died Sunday at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 12th at Pinehurst Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Dickerson officiating. Interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus. Mr. McCoy was born March 5, 1934 in Canton, Missouri son of the late Donald and Marion Fitzpatrick McCoy. He retired after 20 yearsÊfrom Lummus Industries. Mr. McCoy was a volunteer with the Columbus Baptist Association, a U.S. Army Veteran and member of Pinehurst Baptist Church were he taught 2nd Grade Sunday School for 12 years. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Peggy F. McCoy of Columbus, Ga.; three daughters, Sarah Jackson and husband James of Columbus, Ga., Vicky Robbins and husband Willie of Ft. Mitchell, Ala. and Becky Holder and husband Johnnie, Jr. of Columbus, Ga.; one son, William Leroy McCoy of California; one brother, Jim McCoy of Keokuk, Iowa and one sister, Pat Rockhold of Rock Island, IL.; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
