Michael "Mike" E. Walters, 73, of Frankfort, IN, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN. He was born on July 27, 1949 in Richmond, IN to William and Mildred (Hennemyre) Walters. He married Tamela Spears on September 30, 1989. She survives.

Mike was a 1968 graduate of Richmond Senior High School. He went on to work of Cox's Market, Palladium Item Daily Paper and then 15 years at Dunham-Lehr Farm Equipment Manufacturer. After moving to Frankfort, Mike worked for Harmeson Manufacturing, ATP Welding of Lebanon, Rodgers Finishing Tools of Lebanon and then NTK before he retired in 2014. Mike enjoyed wood working, hunting, bowling, watching NASCAR, drag racing and NFL. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Along with his wife of 33 years, Mike is survived by three children; one brother; three brother-in-laws; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Angelina Van Briggle; and three brothers - James, Frank and an infant brother.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 4 to 7 PM at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the funeral home. Pastor Frank Harness will officiate. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
