Charles M. Danek, age 81, of Dixon, passed away at his home, on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, after an extended illness.
He was born on September 11, 1941, in New York, New York, the son of Stanley A. Danek and Mary Anne Griffin Danek.
His family moved to Dixon, in 1947. He graduated from Dixon High School, in 1959. Charles served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. Following his honorable discharge from the military, he attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb and subsequently graduated from Northern, in 1970, with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. He went on to attend Law School from 1971 to 1974 at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. He retired from the U.S. Postal service, in Dixon, IL and worked for Kreider Services, in his retirement. Charles was a generous and considerate man who was devoted to caring for his youngest brother, after the death of their mother, in 1988. This care over the course of 35 years involved many memorable vacations taken by the two brothers.
Charles is survived by two brothers; one sister-in-law; sister and her husband; three sisters-in-law; a nephew and dearest friend. He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews; as well as 17 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Stanley and George and two nephews, Daniel and Jason. Graveside services with Military honors will be held at 1:00 PM on April 19th at Oakwood Cemetery, in Dixon, IL.
