COWEN -- Newman Martin Oxier, 76, of Cowen, Webster County, died Saturday in Charleston Memorial Hospital after a long illness
He was a retired coal miner and a veteran of World War I **
Surviving: wife, Ruby; daughters, Mrs Bernadine Caisse of Louisville, Ky, Mrs Jeanette Lynch of Webster Springs, Mrs Arlene Carusi of Silver Springs, MD, Miss Jacquieline Oxier of Columbia, Md; 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
Service will be 2 pm Monday in the Collins Funeral Home in Cowen with the Rev Okey Wayne officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery
Friends may call after 2 pm today at the funeral home.

Obit was typed as found. Another contributor asked that (SILL) be added to Ruby in the obit as that was her maiden name.

** I believe it should be World War II as a draft card was found for WWII, not WWI.
