Thomas F. O'Brien, Sr., well known local contractor and lifelong resident of Springfield, died at his home, 1133 North Fourteenth street, at 6:10 a.m. today. Death followed several months' illness.
Mr. O'Brien was active in contracting circles of the city.
He was a member of St. Joseph's church.
He is survived by his wife, Bridget A.; one daughter, Mrs. Ethel R. Wiedlocker; four sons, Timothy M., William L., Cyril J. and Thomas F. Jr. In addition, a sister, Mary E, of Springfield; and a brother, Timothy J., of Flint, Mich., survive. There are also nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews surviving.
Funeral services were at the residence and at St. Joseph's church.
Burial in Calvary.
