Mr. William Allen "Bill" Murphy of South Boston, VA passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at his home.
He was born in Halifax County on June 30, 1941, and was 81 years old. He was the son of the late William Edward Murphy and the late Ruby Allen Murphy.
He was a lifelong member of Winn's Creek Baptist Church where he was an active deacon until 2023. Mr. Murphy was retired from Davenport Energy.
Bill loved spending time exercising outside by running and riding his bicycle. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Bill was the survivor of a double lung transplant for nine years. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
