Mary (Maria) was born in what is today East Germany, possibly in the village of Lassan on the Polish border. In August 1854, she emigrated to the US with her parents Joachim and Marie and 6 siblings, Johann, Martin, Christian, Sophie, Fridericke and Joachim. She married Lewy Wiedermann (who was on the same ship) and had 3 children with him before he passed in 1863 (Ferdinand, Frederick and Mary).
On September 24, 1864, she remarried, Philipp Zimmermann. With him she had 2 more children, Henriette and Martin. Phillip passed away around 1872, and Mary remarried on February 26, 1878 to Thomas Hetzler. With him she had one more child, John on January 30, 1879. She outlived Thomas, moved with Henriette, Martin and John from Indiana to Nebraska where she passed away in November 1900.
