Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Myrtle Rose Whitmire Edens.
Mr. Edens was retired from J.P. Stevens, Slater Plant, and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of the home, Joyce Garrett Edens; four daughters; three sons; three sisters; two brothers; nineteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at 3 p.m. at Holly Springs Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. at the church.
The family will be at the home.
