Mr. Ronnie Lamar, age 71 of Temple, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023 at his residence. Ronnie was born June 2, 1951 the son of the late George P. Lamar and Ozelle Reid Lamar. He graduated from Harding University with a Bachelors Degree in Journalism. Ronnie worked as a Mail Carrier for a number of years with the U. S. Postal Service and was a United Stated Veteran having served in the Air Force. He enjoyed writing and bird watching and collecting vinyl records. Ronnie was a member and former deacon at The Carrollton Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Nancy Parker Lamar; children, Jaime(Jason) McLain, Carrollton, Josh (Stephanie) Lamar, Decatur; grandchildren, Anna and Faith McLain; and sister, Trisha Pope, Villa Rica.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Angela Gay Cash in 2009.
In accordance with his wishes he was cremated
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 4 P.M. from The Carrollton Church of Christ.
