Wife of MAJ Donald Eugene Myers US Army

Patricia Mae Seaquist Myers, 93, passed away on April 15, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas.
Pat was born on November 10, 1929, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Albert Edmond and Myrtle Mae (Smith) Seaquist. She was the youngest of five children, four daughters and one son, Albert, who died in WWII at the age of 19.

Pat lived a long and full life. She grew up in a small town in Iowa during the Depression, surrounded by a loving family. After graduating from Clarion High School in 1947, she moved to Des Moines where she found a job at an insurance company. Not long thereafter, she met and fell in love with a young Army enlistee, Donald Eugene Myers, and they eloped on July 19, 1952 to Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Don and Pat started a family with the birth of daughter Katy, with son Timothy, and daughters Melissa and Peggy soon to follow. Pat was the primary caregiver of the family as Don's military career took them through numerous relocations in the U.S, Germany, and Central and South America.

In 1973, Don retired from the Army and the family settled in San Antonio. After Don passed away in 1980, Pat embarked on a new career as a bank trust officer at National Bank of Commerce. After retiring in 1994, Pat spent hundreds of hours giving back to her community by volunteering at The Assistance League of San Antonio (ALSA) and Zonta. In 2022 Pat was the first person at ALSA to receive the Anne Banning Leadership Award. Yet Pat still found time to be a voracious reader and play weekly games of mahjongg with dear friends. Pat loved cooking for friends and family, and entertained frequently. She was always reading a cookbook.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, her four siblings and her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Katy and husband, Keith; a son, Timothy and wife, Sherry; daughter, Melissa and husband, Larry; daughter Peggy Myers, as well as five grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life was held on June 3, 2023
Pat was beloved by so many and will be deeply missed.
