Arthur Loppnow, 78, died Tuesday at 12:10 p.m. at the Whitewhater Manor Nursing Home here following an illness of several years.
He farmed near St. Charles until 1944 when he retired and moved to the city. He was born June 25, 1889 in Elba to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Loppnow and married Minnie Brehmer March 16, 1915 in Winona. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
Survivors are: One son, Alton, St. Charles; three daughters, Mrs. Otto (Evelyn) Haake and Mrs. Edgar (Ruby) Sebo, Winona, and Mrs. Edward (Alice) Schultz, St. Charles; 12 grandchildren;three brothers, Arnold, Onalaska, Wis.; George, Big Falls Minn., and Henry, St. Paul, and three sisters, Mrs. Edwin Nelson, Minneapolis; Mrs. Harry Carlson, Onalaska, and Mrs. George Seekamp, Houston. His wife died Dec. 21, 1955. Two brothers, one sister and one daughter also have died.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at United Church of Christ, the Rev. Richard Stenzel officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
Friends may call at Jacobs Funeral Home Friday after 3 p.m. and Saturday until noon and at the church after 1 p.m.
